Frequently asked questions
What exactly does this SEO audit check?
Eleven on-page factors: title tag presence & length, meta description presence & length, H1 count, heading hierarchy (no skipped levels), image alt-text coverage, canonical tag, Open Graph tags, Twitter card, viewport meta tag, word count, and internal/external link counts. Each is weighted into a score out of 100.
Why should a page have exactly one H1?
The H1 tells Google what the page is about. Multiple H1s dilute that signal and confuse screen readers; zero H1s wastes your strongest on-page heading. One clear, keyword-focused H1 per page is the standard.
What is a good title tag length?
Aim for 50–60 characters (≈580 pixels). Google truncates longer titles with "…", which can cut off your keyword or brand. This audit warns you below 30 characters (too vague) and above 60 (will truncate).
Does this check backlinks, page speed or rankings?
No — honestly, it can't. Backlink data lives in paid databases (Ahrefs, Moz), page speed needs a lab/field test (PageSpeed Insights), and rankings depend on Google's index. This tool covers what it can verify from your HTML: the on-page fundamentals, which are fully in your control.
How is the 100-point score calculated?
Each of the 11 checks has a weight reflecting its SEO impact (title 15, meta description 15, H1 10, Open Graph 10, image alts 10, word count 10, links 10, and 5 each for heading hierarchy, canonical, Twitter card and viewport). Pass earns full points, warnings earn partial, fails earn zero.
